Premier Education is a specialist, independent education recruitment organisation working exclusively within the Early Years, Primary Education and SEN sector in the Northwest. We provide cover for long term, short term & day to day roles and recognise that all of our education professionals including our teachers, teaching assistants, nursery nurses, administrative staff and site staff are key to our success.
Alistair's business background was initially in farming where he helped to develop, organise and run a large farming enterprise in the Scottish Borders. He became interested in supply teaching recruitment through working with his sister who ran a successful agency in Newcastle and consequently Premier Education was founded in 2001.
Established in 2001 Premier Education is an independent organisation specialising solely in education recruitment. Over the last 20 years we have worked with thousands of Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Support Assistants and Nursery Nurses and have helped them to find permanent, long term and day to day supply positions in Schools, Nurseries and SEN Provisions across the North West and West Yorkshire.
We are also open during school holiday periods between 9.00am and 3.00pm. You can also reach us week day evenings and throughout the weekend on our out of hours service. For details please see below. Supply cover is essentially driven by staff absence due mainly to sickness, training, maternity leave and occasional unfilled vacancies.

I found premier a fantastic place for work. They are so quick to find a job for you in an area that is suitable and always work around you. If you are out of work, premier are very quick to find you work again. It has been an absolute pleasure working for one of the best agencies! Very highly recommended if you want steady supply work!

As a newly qualified teacher with Premier Education, I gained a wealth of experience as a supply teacher. Premier Education provided me with work opportunities every day, including the school holidays. I was able to work within a variety of schools across Cheshire, Stockport and Derbyshire, where I always felt welcome. As well as day to day supply teaching, I also had the opportunity to do long term supply within one school as a class teacher; this allowed me to further develop my skills and knowledge as a new teacher.
The staff at Premier Education are all friendly and helpful, they always keep in contact throughout placements and often check up on you after a days work to see how it went. Additionally, Premier also take into account your desired work opportunities and take into consideration which year group or key stage you would be most comfortable covering. This has enabled me to gain experiences across Primary School age groups. I highly recommend Premier Education for Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers.

Alistair and the team at Premier Education were great at finding me work (even though I could only work 2 days). Sometimes work would be planned in advance and other times it was a call at 7:30am. They would try and provide you with details about the school, giving you the year group and letting you know if work was set in advance so you could prepare yourself before arriving.
I was hesitant at doing supply, having relocated to the area and not working since maternity, but they filled me confidence. I soon realised that I could trust in my ability. Supply has made me more flexible in my teaching. And it has definitely made me a stronger and more able teacher. Thanks for the work Premier Education.

Alistair and the team at Premier Education have been amazing and I would highly recommend them! After joining in the middle of (the first) lockdown - Alistair provided me with consistent work for the last 12 months, ultimately resulting in employment from one school I had worked with through Premier. Once placed, the support from Premier continued with regular phone calls and emails.
Working in a variety of different placements in a variety of different ages and key stages really built my confidence in the classroom and helped me develop my own pedagogy. I would recommend supply to any Early Career Teacher as a brilliant foundation for developing your ideology and Premier Education is the perfect place for it. The team go over and above to ensure you are happy, valued and hear a familiar voice (as the lack of familiar colleagues can be difficult at first). This really makes you feel like part of the team! Whilst I'm over the moon to have secured something permanent - I am sad to be leaving Premier Education.

I joined Premier Education as I was finishing my PGCE. Within a couple of weeks they had already secured me an interview with a primary school which became an offer of employment. Due to circumstances out of our control, this didn't materialise and was a knock to my confidence, however, the support I received from Alistair and the team was phenomenal!
Through every placement and interview, Premier Education were supportive, helpful and (most importantly) a friendly voice. With regular phone calls to check in and consistent availability to speak to the office with any queries or problems, I cannot thank them enough. This support has been especially vital during COVID and the uncertainty it brought for schools and school staff. Premier were able to secure me a consistent role within a school I'd previously worked at and regularly kept in touch (not just to see how work was, but to see if I was coping or if I needed additional support ).
During lockdowns, having access to a wonderful team and the opportunity for well-being talks was greatly appreciated and our VE Day afternoon tea was the highlight of a tumultuous few weeks- lifting my spirits and keeping in touch. Premier have gone above and beyond on many occasions and genuinely care about their workers. Although I am over the moon to say I have a contract of employment (through one of my placements) I am also sad to be saying goodbye to colleagues who have been the one reliable constant in all the upheaval. I would recommend Premier Education to anyone wanting a change. I have taken on both teaching and TA roles and it has given me back my confidence. Thank-you once again!

Over the past few years, it has been a great pleasure working for Premier Education as a supply in different roles. Can't praise the company enough, I joined the Premier Education team in the first week of lockdown 1.0! It would have been easy for them to end the role there and then with schools closing and me not being liable for furlough but they were amazing, stood by me, put me through training and ensured that I was happy, both in and out of work. They have supported me brilliantly in my tenature with them and I only left as I had a offer to do something totally different that is 6 minutes from my door instead of a 1hr drive each way every day.

I have loved working for Premier Education. I have always felt valued, respected and appreciated; Alistair and Clare have always been available to talk and listen to me. Working for Premier has given me the opportunity to go to many different schools and meet lots of wonderful new people. Premier Education are the best teaching agency to work for! Not only do they always find you suitable work, but they check how you're finding things and are always on hand if you need help/advice. Alistair was especially helpful in finding me a great school to work in and he always responded to my calls and emails within a day. I really can't thank them enough and couldn't find fault with anything they've done for me. I would recommend them to friends and family in a heartbeat.
