I don't normally leave reviews but I was so utterly flabbergasted at the sheer lack of professionalism of this "organisation" that I felt compelled to. Called in about a role I had seen advertised. 7 CALLS LATER (after continually being told that the consultant in question was either on the phone, on lunch or on holiday") I just gave up. I asked several times to the person who answered the phone if they could help and was told "nah it's her job, so you'll have to speak to her mate".
Please please please don't use this agency, they are diabolical and highly disrespectful. A true embarrassment to the industry. Many other ones out there that are much better (doesn't take much though!) IF i could give less than 1 star I would!

Absolutely horrible recruitment agency. Totally shambles from the start messing around with paper work and details. Then on my start date, I called in advance to tell them I was chronically ill and they just sacked me off on the spot. No warning or anything. Absolutely brutal company. Save yourself the trouble and sign up with another recruitment agency

Not good. Poor clients. NO MINIMUM working day (most agencies are 8 hours). Payroll method a bit strange, I was signed to Central Payroll Specialists despite not signing the contract because the T&C's were not to my liking. The client I provided a service for deducted 5 hours off my timesheet. No person at Avenue thought to query the alteration. Overall if you are a temporary worker then avoid Avenue and go to any of the 30 or so better agencies.
You could try Recruitment Direct(Falkirk), NAS(Livingston) as 2 examples of decent agencies. Strange that Ian Campbell(director of Avenue) has an article about the "bad" agencies and how Avenue want to eradicate the bad practices of which his company is a prime proponent of. One of the minority that tarnishes the reputation of others.
